Really Simple Syndication (RSS)
Really Simple Syndication (RSS) allows you to keep up-to-date with the site, without the need to keep visiting the site. It's a common method employed these days by many sites, particularly news sites. In order to be able to read these updates, you need to use a program. One of these is actually a website: Google Reader. It's straight forward to use, and you can copy the links below and add them in to the reader. You can add other sites, such as BBC news for the Lancashire region. Then everytime you login to your application, or Google Reader, you get all the news you are interested in, in one place.
